The case table

Cases on the Cases page is a table of every case with all its columns. Each column has a filter box (any letter case; "everyone" in Who sees it finds the cases open to everyone), and the table shows the status of the form chosen, 100 cases to a page.

A case's own page

Each case ID opens the case's page:

  • where it stands for each form it opens, in that form's round, with Release and Reopen;
  • who interviews it, and Give it to someone else;
  • its other columns;
  • every interview that named it, in every form and round, with Use this one / Keep the earlier one for a duplicate;
  • the same-person checks about it;
  • its notes;
  • its history, newest first: changes made by submitted data (each column, before and after), interviews that completed or repeated it, releases, reopenings, reviews, assignments, same-person decisions and notes.

Notes

A manager can write a note on a case. It is kept with the writer's name and the time, can never be changed or deleted, and is sealed at rest like submissions. Enumerators do not see notes. The activity log records that a note was written, not what it says.

Reviewers are kept out of the Cases page because the list names the people a study visits, and everything on the page changes what phones receive. They still read the data the forms submit, through the Data Explorer and exports.

Identifying case lists

A case list marked as holding identifying data is opened, on the Cases page and on each case's page, only by people with identity access to the workspace, and each look is recorded. Every case event and note records the list it came from, and is shown or hidden by that list's mark, not today's: the values and notes of an earlier list marked identifying stay hidden from someone without identity access, whichever list is in use now. The same rule applies to case events in the activity log.
