One platform, the whole survey
Most survey teams stitch together a form tool, spreadsheets of quality checks and a folder of export scripts. Joripo keeps the questionnaire, the field team, the checks and the exports in one place, so a problem found on Tuesday can be fixed before Wednesday's interviews.
Joripo compiles XLSForm workbooks itself, checks that each one opens, and deploys it to phones and web forms in one step. A workbook with problems is refused with every issue listed by sheet, row and column, and the live form stays as it was.
How form design worksThe browser tester runs the same engine and the same form definition as Joripo Collect and web forms. Step through skip logic, switch languages, and open the form inspector to see every calculated value before a single interview happens.
More on testingEnumerators sign in to Joripo Collect with the organisation's server name and their own username. Forms, drafts and case lists stay on the phone, interviews are saved every few seconds, and finalized forms go out automatically when a connection returns, even with the app closed.
Twelve checks run on each interview the moment it arrives: duration, GPS, travel speed, straightlining, skip patterns, value ranges and more. Team-wide comparisons, back-checks and statistical tests run across the whole dataset whenever you choose.

Teams usually run high frequency checks in Stata or R, days after the data comes in. In Joripo they are part of the platform: each interview is checked as it arrives, and every finding says in plain words what was entered, what was expected and which enumerator was involved.

Usually, yes. Joripo reads XLSForm workbooks (.xlsx), including SurveyCTO-compatible ones and their functions, and tells you on upload if anything in a workbook is not supported. Test the form in the browser before fieldwork to be sure. Forms that use public-key encryption are not supported.
Yes, in Joripo Collect on Android: forms, drafts and case lists stay on the phone and finalized interviews send when a connection returns. Signing in and downloading forms need a connection once. Browser web forms need a connection to load and submit.
Not today. Joripo Collect runs on Android 8.0 or newer. Respondents on any device can fill web forms in a browser, and ODK Collect can also connect to Joripo.
On Joripo's hosted service, data is stored on the server that runs your organisation's Joripo, encrypted at rest. Organisations that need their own infrastructure can discuss self-hosting with us. See Security for the details.
